Weird stuff

This is the weird stuff

Okay, here’s where things get weird. I do a lot of other things outside of just advertising. Remember when I mentioned being voraciously curious? Well that curiosity leads me down a lot of strange paths. Like building Mandalorian armor for my entire family out of EVA foam floor mats. Or deciding one day that I’m going to learn how to work on cars and build a YouTube channel about it. Or when I had this crazy idea for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles screenplay and spent half a year crafting the saddest, most brutal TMNT script you’ll probably ever read (careful, it’s 160 pages and Splinter dies at the end). I’m curious by nature. Creative by compulsion. And weird by choice.

“Echuta, Mando.”

We go hard on Halloween. So when my six year old son said he wanted us all to be Mandolarians for Halloween, I was down. It took me a few months and a lot of foam, but we were GD Mandolarians for Halloween that year.

Hey, let’s build cars. How hard could it be?

I have always loved cars. But I’ve never had the time or courage to actually dive in and see how they tick. So a couple years ago I decided there’s no time like the present to start. I bought a beat up Miata and started taking things apart and trying to put them back together again. It’s been one of the most rewording side projects I’ve taken on. I’m on my third project car now and still learning a ton. Cars are like the world’s best Rubik’s Cube. You can solve them then go do sick skids. That’s pretty rad. Here’s a link to my channel, Fastish Garage.

My OG Miata and its replacement. Now, I’m on to my third car, a 1992 Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Good Fight

I love the Ninja Turtles. I loved them as a kid and I love them still. But I found this image on Pinterest a few years ago and it gutted me. Leonardo looked so devastated. That sparked an idea, “What if one of the Turtles died? How would that effect them? What happens when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles aren’t teenagers anymore?” That got me to writing. And the result is this fine piece of fan fiction. Click here for the PDF.
